The 1st International Forum of Iran Sports History

 2nd November 2006, National Olympic & Paralympic Academy

 

History is the science of discovering the past events from topic, place, time, financial and spiritual views and the history of Iran is about people who do not believe in boundaries and the aim of organizing such a gathering is to become acquainted with the traditional living customs and rites and rituals of people in various eras.

This event is focused on sports history within cultural considerations about Iran and is the first step calling on professors, researchers and individuals interested in various areas of sports history from aspects of history,culture,archeology,socioalogy, anthropology,ethnography  and literatrure and art and……….which deals with following three areas:

-sport in ancient Iran

-Sport from advent of Islam until Safavieh era

-Sport from Sfavieh until present era

Followings are amongst the most noticeable objectives of this forum:

-Further familiarity with historical roots of sport

-Promoting the level of knowledge in sports history

-Scientific promotion of sports history in the country

-Building appropriate platforms for presenting scientific views

-Exchanging views among local and foreign researchers and experts in this field

-Presenting the latest research achievements in sports history of Iran

-Exchanging of scientific-research findings among university and sports experts of the country

In total, 80 papers were selected ( 73 local papers as well as 7 foreign papers from Tajikistan, Afghanistan, India, Germany, England, Seri Lanka and 25 papers for posters. (Participants of scientific seminars are fully aware that oral and poster presentations have similar scientific value) and sent to seminar Secretariat. It is worth mentioning that scientific board members, university students and graduates as well as researchers in sport and non-sports areas remarkably contributed to this gathering by presenting their papers. About 97% of the papers received belong to such individuals which indicate that this forum has been warmly welcomed by university members and researchers. About 98% of the papers presented are based on topics of this event.

2nd Forum of Iran Sports History

In the name of God, the Creator of art, honesty and chivalry and rationality

 

We are now living in an era of human history which not only make history but as historian write history and today we have come together to create few pages of this history book. We are talking about sportsmanship, chivalry, and heroism. From the hero of Mesopotamia, Gilkomesh, the heroism of Rostam Dastan and sportsmanship of Pooriaye Vali and a world champion like Takhti whose memories are highly remembered.

The aim of organizing such Forum is to get familiar with living customs of people and their rites and traditions in various eras.

In order to come up with a general report on formation process and measures taken by the executive and scientific groups of this event, it should be mentioned that we are pleased to have managed to attract the attention of university professors and researchers not only in physical education but in other areas namely history and culture, archeology, art and literature, sociology and anthropology, linguistics, religion and philosophy which constitute the basis of oral and poster presentations, sportsmanship and chivalry and study the great role and status and moral values in Iranian-Islamic culture in all areas as far as possible.

After call for papers, 57 papers were sent to the secretariat. On the whole, 99% of the abstracts presented were based on topics of the forum. The participation of scientific board members and university students in paper presentation was also considerable.

It is worth mentioning that this forum is being held in four panels the third of which is devoted specifically to world champion, Takhti, entitled “together with Takhti friends”  mentioning some of Takhti’s memories by his friends. At the same time with the forum, unveiling Takhti statue, an exhibition of Takhti pictures and sports books were also held.

It is hoped that organization of this sports history forum within cultural domain of Iran is a great stride in line with further recognition of historical roots of sport and its becoming more scientific locally.

3rd Forum of Iran Sports History

 

Attaining the followings are among the most important aims of this forum:

-Further familiarity with history and sports historical roots

-Promoting the knowledge of sports history

-Scientific promotion of sports history in the country

-Building appropriate platforms to present scientific views

-Exchanging views between local and foreign researchers and experts

-Presenting latest research achievements in sports history of Iran

-Exchanging scientific-research findings among university groups and country’s sports experts

Organization of this forum is not only studying the sports history of Iran during recent years, but beyond that is criticizing the present condition and establishing motivation and required sensitivity for researchers.

 Identifying historians and major sports fans and inviting them will give rise to exchange of views on qualitative and quantitative condition of sports history.

This event is devoted to sports history within cultural considerations about Iran and is the first step calling on professors, researchers and individuals interested in various areas of sports history from aspects of history, culture, archeology, sociology, anthropology, ethnography and literature and art and…………..
