Dr. Seyed Mohsen Mir, Director of the National Museum of Sports, Olympics, Paralympics, said that with the unveiling of six other busts of Olympic champions, a total of 34 statues were placed in the Hall of Fame up to now.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Seyed Mohsen Mir in an interview with IRNA,
referring to the efforts of the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic
Committee to set up the Iranian Sports Hall of Fame, said: unveiling busts of
Abbas Jadidi, Hossein Rezazadeh and Ali Kashfia have been with the presence of
Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri", President of the National Olympic Committee,
and Dr. Masoud Soltanifar, Minister of Sports and Youth, at the National
Olympic Committee. With these 6 busts, the number of busts of Iranian champions
in the Iranian Sports Hall of Fame reached to 34.
He stated: "These busts are the result of Iran's 68-year
presence in different editions of Olympic Games, and a few weeks ago, the busts
of four Iranian Paralympic women were unveiled. The construction of these busts
began from the beginning of Iran's participation in the 1948 Olympics the
criterion of which is the observance of justice so a total of 55 Olympic
medalists will be located in the Hall of Fame”.
